The 20-year-old Briton believes he will be lightweight world champion within his next five fights - and his ambitions do not stop there.

"I want to move up a couple of weights as well and win a couple more world titles," he told BBC's Inside Sport.

"I am going to win as much as I can. Take on the world, that's what I want to do. It's a short career but I want to make the most of it."

Promoter Frank Warren said Khan had "still got the L plates on" following the fighter's hard-fought win over Scotland's Willie Limond in July.

Yet Khan still insists it will not be long before he becomes a world champion.

"I know that in another five fights I'll be a world champion," he told Inside Sport presenter Gabby Logan.

"Frank Warren has always said that he is going to take his time with me to win a world title because he wants me to go there and win it in style.

"I don't blame him, but it's just me being ambitious. I've got goals out there that I want to reach."

Khan was knocked to the canvas in the sixth round by Limond, before going on to stop the Scot in the eighth.

The 20-year-old says the important thing was the way he reacted to the setback.

"Every fighter gets knocked down. Floyd Mayweather, Ricky Hatton, Joe Calzaghe - they've all been on the canvas," Khan said.

"It shows who's going to be the champion when they get up and how they finish the fight off. I got up."
