Vargas-Mayorga bout rescheduled

There is plenty of bad blood between Vargas (left) and Mayorga
The grudge bout between Fernando Vargas and Ricardo Mayorga will now take place in Los Angeles on Friday 23 November.

It was orginally set for Saturday 8 September, but Vargas had to pull out because was suffering from anaemia.

Blood tests revealed the American, who has had trouble making weight for recent fights, had an iron deficiency.

When Vargas and Mayorga announced their fight earlier this year in LA, the pair began brawling after the Nicaraguan goaded his opponent.

Former IBF light middleweight champion Vargas last fought in July 2006, when he was stopped by Shane Mosley in six rounds.

Mayorga, who has a record of 27-6-1 with 22 KOs, has been idle since May 2006, when Oscar De La Hoya knocked him out in the sixth round to seize the WBC super welterweight title.

Mayorga then tested positive for a banned diuretic after the fight.
