Cotto believes he can silence his brash opponent |
Miguel Cotto puts his WBA welterweight title on the line against former holder Zab Judah at a sold-out Madison Square Garden in New York on Saturday. The hard-punching Puerto Rican, 29, is unbeaten in 29 professional fights, with 24 wins inside the distance.
American former undisputed champion Judah (34-4, 25 KOs) is looking to record an impressive victory after losing his last three fights.
"Cotto has never faced anyone with my fast hands," he warned.
But Cotto countered: "I have had the best training camp I have ever had in my life and I am going to destroy Zab Judah.
"He may be a great fighter but he is not the best fighter and I will teach him that difference when we meet in the ring."
Cotto has emerged as a phenomenal 147lb fighter despite fears he was too small to be effective at welterweight.
"I've always dreamed of being one of the greatest champions from Puerto Rico, like Wilfred Benitez and Felix Trinidad - I am on my way," he said.
Judah's most recent fights saw him lose on points to Floyd Mayweather and Carlos Baldomir, while a bout against Ruben Galvan ended as one-round no-contest due to cuts.
