Lewis had a tough final fight against Klitschko four years ago |
Lennox Lewis says he has no plans to come out of retirement for a one-off fight with Vitali Klitschko. Reports on Saturday quoted US boxing promoter Bob Arum as saying that the former undisputed heavyweight champion was considering a return to the ring.
But Lewis, 41, said on his website: "I have no idea how these rumours get started, but I'm a man of my word - I will remain retired."
The Briton quit in June 2003 after defending his titles against Klitschko.
Speculation over a rematch mounted when ex-WBC belt-holder Klitschko, 36, announced his comeback recently.

The Ukrainian said: "I said I would only come out of retirement if there could be a rematch with Lennox, and I am hopeful he will comeback also."
Arum was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: "Lennox has been discussing the prospect of a one-off world title rematch with Klitschko.
"I am told Lennox is back in the gym. This is an enormous fight in the making."
Lewis added: "I'm flattered that the boxing community is eager to have me back in the ring. but I'm happy with my life and I don't need to chase a big pay day."
Klitschko could be in line for a shot at reclaiming the WBC title from Kazakhstan-born Oleg Maskaev, who is based in America.
Klitschko's younger brother Wladimir is the current IBF heavyweight champion and fights American Ray Austin on 3 March in Germany.
