Witter (right) stopped Morua in the ninth round |
A lucrative fight with Diego Corrales is on the horizon for Junior Witter after his victory over Arturo Morua. The WBC light welterweight champion first faces a mandatory defence against either Juan Lazcano or Vivian Harris.
They meet on 10 February, and promoter Mick Hennessy confirmed Witter's next defence will be against the winner.
But he said: "I'm quite confident the Corrales fight will be made. There has been big interest. American TV wants it, as do we and Corrales' camp."
Hennessy originally wanted Witter to face the US former two-weight world champion in his first voluntary defence, but Corrales was hit by contractual problems.
"Corrales had to sort his contractual situation out, which he's now done. Unfortunately, we've got to deal with the mandatory defence first."

If Lazcano wins next month, he could meet Witter in the US. Hennessy has links with Oscar de la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions and it would be a co-promotion.
If Harris wins, the fight likely to be in UK.
Witter, who has long wanted to meet British rival Ricky Hatton, said he is ready for whoever Hennessy lines up next.
"I'm not worried about anyone in the world. As long as the money is right and the match is there, I'm not afraid of anyone," said the 32-year-old.
Witter added he was not impressed by Hatton's points win over Juan Urango in Las Vegas a few hours after his own victory in North London.
"Ricky kept hitting and then holding and he was allowed to get away with it," he said. "I think everything is starting to catch up with him.
"His lifestyle out of the ring is taking its toll and I don't think the American audience would have been overly impressed (by his display).
"A fight with him could still happen, but I've given up thinking or worrying about it. If Ricky lost (his next fight) he would probably retire."
