Hatton still in Witter's sights
Junior Witter and Ricky Hatton
Witter and Hatton fight in different countries on the same night
WBC light-welterweight champion Junior Witter admits he will have half an eye on Ricky Hatton as he defends his title against Arturo Morua on 20 January.

On the same night, Hatton fights Juan Urango in Las Vegas and Witter says comparisons will be unavoidable.

"It's a chance to show Hatton's fans what he'd be up against, and for other people to draw comparisons," he said.

"I have got to concentrate on my next opponent, but I'd be lying if I said Hatton was not the one I wanted."

Witter is full of confidence after finally winning his world title against DeMarcus Corley three months ago, and he has long been gunning for a showdown with Hatton, who has a 41-0 record with 30 knock-outs.

The Manchester fighter is a former world light-welterweight champion who gave up his belts to move up to welterweight, where he was crowned world champion again, before returning to light-welterweight.

On paper, Morua does not look like he will pose Hatton too much of a problem.

His record is an unremarkable 24-7-1, with the high point being a points victory over a former Hatton opponent, Carlos Maussa, in December 2004.
