The troubled Harrison faces losing his WBO belt |
Scott Harrison's manager Barry Hughes admits the fighter is likely to be stripped of his WBO world title if he is not released from jail this week. The 29-year-old has been in prison in Malaga, Spain, since he was arrested on 6 October over an alleged assault.
His title defence against Nicky Cook on 9 December has already been cancelled and the WBO are demanding confirmation of a release date.
"Hopes are definitely fading fast for Scott," Hughes told BBC Five Live.
"Realistically, there's a great chance that could happen [lose his belt] if he is not out for the weekend.

"I don't know whether the WBO have ever dealt with the Spanish legal system.
"They work in reverse. It's the slowest process I've ever been involved in and the most frustrating.
"We are waiting for a decision from the British Boxing Board of Control to see where things stand.
"The BBBC want a medical for Scott immediately but that's something we're not able to give them.
"The only thing we can guarantee them is he's not doing anything wrong because he can't. He's just keeping his mind strong."
Harrison has not been in the ring since last November and the WBO have already granted him special allowances because of personal problems.
But Hughes insisted he would stand by Harrison and said the boxer would emerge from this latest setback a "stronger and wiser man".

"It's do or die for Scott, basically," said Hughes. "Scott is 100% to blame for all his problems and he has no option, his back is against the wall and he has no more sympathy left.
"He has to prove he is a changed man when he gets out. If stripped of his belts he has to prove to everybody that he is a special product.
"This is the wake-up call he needed. He could be sitting anywhere in the world getting a great reception for the achievement he's had in the ring but instead he's sitting in a prison cell.
"Scott is still innocent until proven guilty. I'm not saying he's an angel but I feel a lot has been blown out of proportion and he's been picked on."
