WBU middleweight champion Gary Lockett plans to follow fellow Welshman Enzo Maccarinelli to a true world title. "The WBU is a good, money-making crown, but I'm number-two contender for the WBO belt and that's my aim," he said.
"I've got the potential to follow Enzo Maccarinelli and Joe Calzaghe and win one of the four major world titles."
Cwmbran-man Lockett, 29, makes the second defence of his WBU crown against an as-yet unnamed opponent at Newport Sports Centre on Saturday, 18 November.

Bonymaen's Maccarinelli stepped up from being WBU cruiserweight champion to become WBO king, his first defence coming last Saturday against Mark Hobson.
Lockett's points win over Ryan Rhodes at the Millennium Stadium in July took his professional record to 28-1 (19 KOs).
A good display impressed boxing great Barry McGuigan, but the Irishman suggested that a European crown should be the limit of Lockett's ambition in a competitive world middleweight division.
"I understand what Barry was saying, but he also said that my power was world class," Lockett told BBC Sport Wales.
"I'm being built up now and will top the bill on home ground in Newport.
"It's onwards and upwards from here."
Bradley Pryce will make the second defence of his Commonwealth light middleweight title on the undercard.
Also in action will be Welsh fighters Gavin Rees, Barrie Jones, Kerry Hope and Nathan Cleverley, although none of the opponents have yet been confirmed.
