Brazil's Freitas quits the ring
Acelino Freitas
Freitas made his debut in 1995 and won his first 29 fights by knockout
Four-time world champion Acelino Freitas of Brazil has retired from professional boxing.

The 30-year-old Freitas' last fight, in April, was a split-decision win over Zahir Raheem of the USA for the vacant WBO lightweight belt.

Brazil's most successful fighter said he wants to continue his career as a promoter, and will continue helping social projects in his homeland.

He finished with a pro record of 38 fights, one defeat, with 32 KOs.
