Indonesia's Chris John retained his WBA featherweight title with a unanimous points decision over Renan Acosta of Panama in Jakarta. The three judges scored the fight 119-108, 120-109 and 120-107 in favour of John, who praised his opponent.
"I have to admit, Acosta is a tough fighter. I tried hard and managed to land some clean blows but he is tough."
The win was the sixth defence for John, 27, who also is a champion in the Chinese martial art of Wu-Shu.
The victory extended his record to 38-0-1 while Acosta, 24, slipped to 18-5-0.
