Calzaghe lands a left hook on Jeff Lacy in Manchester in March |
Frank Warren and Dennis Hobson have vowed to put their differences behind them and arrange a British super-fight between Joe Calzaghe and Clinton Woods. Woods established himself as the number one light heavyweight in the world with a hard-fought win over Glen Johnson.
"Dennis and I are going to sit down and do our best to make the fight happen," said Warren, who promotes Calzaghe.
Hobson, who looks after Woods, said: "Forget personalities and politics. It's the fight on everybody's lips."
Woods, 34, defended his IBF crown for a third time against Johnson, whom he had previously drawn with and lost to.
And the Sheffield native agreed that a fight against Welshman Calzaghe would be a mouth-watering affair, but only one he would take on equal terms.

"Surely my stock's risen and surely I'm worth a little bit more than I've been offered [in the past]", said Woods.
"The title will be my title, because there's no way I can make super middleweight.
"It's a massive fight, but if it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, there are other big fights."
And Hobson also hinted that he would only agree to the fight if both protagonists were to be paid the same.
"British boxing needs defining fights to make it thrive, instead of spin and fabrication," said Hobson.
"It would generate a lot of money, we'd need a massive arena for that fight and Clinton should get paid the same amount as Calzaghe.
"You tell me what options Joe's got. We've got more options than him. One thing's for sure, you know Clinton will turn up."
