 Erdei celebrates his victory over Ulrich in Oberhausen |
Hungary's Zsolt Erdei retained his WBO light heavyweight title with a unanimous points win over German Thomas Ulrich in Oberhausen on Saturday. The judges scored the fight 120-108 118-100 116-112 in Erdei's favour as he made his sixth title defence.
Ulrich had no answer to Erdei's jab and suffered bad cuts to his nose and eyes.
Meanwhile, Australia's Gairy St Clair beat Cassius Baloyi for the IBF/IBO super featherweight titles in Emperors Palace Casino, South Africa.
St. Clair, fighting for his first world titles in a 12-year professional career, unleashed a relentless barrage to earn an unanimous decision 116-112 115-113 115-114.
