Hatton could return to the light-welterweight division

Argentinian Baldomir could replace Gatti as an opponent, but Hatton's trainer Billy Graham was disappointed with the outcome.

"That's just cost me an absolute fortune," he said. "We really needed Gatti to win.

"Baldomir has got the belt, but he's not really attractive."

Graham has no doubt that WBA welterweight champion Hatton could extend his unbeaten record against the South American, but he is unconvinced that Baldomir has the pulling power with American fight fans that Gatti offered.

Graham also believes that IBF welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather will be a more likely opponent for the Argentinian.

"I think he [Baldomir] is very beatable," said Graham. "I think Mayweather will be desperate to fight him, let's put it that way."

Graham believes Hatton would be better served by returning to light-welterweight after the Mancunian made heavy work of beating Luis Collazo on his welterweight debut in May, but he admits that the big money is in the 147lbs division.

"You've got to be realistic, all the big fights are in the welterweight division, all the big money is in the welterweight division," said Graham.

"The decision won't be mine. I've said what I believe, I think Ricky Hatton is a light-welterweight, but money dictates."
