Froch (left) was injured in his recent win over Dale Westerman |
Carl Froch's British and Commonwealth super middleweight title defence against Brian Magee will take place on 26 May at the King's Hall in Belfast. The fight was scheduled for 31 March but had to be postponed because Froch picked up a shoulder injury in his win over Dale Westerman earlier this month.
"Brian was bitterly disappointed at the delay but is happy a new date has been set," said Magee's manager Pat Magee.
Froch was diagnosed with a severe haematoma on his bicep.
He has been instructed not to use his right arm for at least another three weeks.
"I can't hit a pad, bag or even do a press up," said Froch.
"Anything that extends the arm fully may open up the haematoma again and cause further bleeding under the skin.
"I want Magee as soon as possible. I want to get him out of the way."
The Magee camp was angry that Froch fought Westerman so close to the scheduled King's Hall date.
"We were critical of Froch's team for taking the fight in Bethnal Green too close to the King's Hall fight," added Pat Magee.
"He was permitted to do that by the (British) board and there was nothing that we could do about it."
