Jamie Moore dug deep to reclaim the British light middleweight title with a sixth-round stoppage against bitter rival Michael Jones. The Salford southpaw survived two knockdowns on the way to claiming victory in Altrincham.
Moore dropped 30-year-old Merseysider Jones twice in the fifth before another knockdown saw the referee step in to stop the fight in the next round.
The victory gave Moore the title he lost to the same opponent last year.
It was all the more sweet given the bitter history between the two fighters.
In their last fight in November, the Salford man was left fuming after a controversial third-round decision saw him disqualified for hitting on the break.
