Gatti is on Hatton's shortlist of opponents |
Arturo Gatti made an all-action return to the ring as he scored an 11th-round technical knockout win over Denmark's Thomas Damgaard in Atlantic City. Gatti, touted as a possible future opponent for Ricky Hatton, battled through the pain of a hand injury and said afterwards: "I think it's broken."
He ended the fight with a right hand that wobbled Damgaard before the referee stepped in and called a halt.
It was his first bout since losing to Floyd Mayweather Jr seven months ago.
Roared on by his hometown fans, former world champion Gatti, 33, returned to his brawling ways to spoil Damgaard's debut on US soil.
His right hand, which has given Gatti injury problems in the past, was damaged in the fourth round.
