Nigerian heavyweight Samuel Peter is chasing a title fight with WBC champion Vitali Klitschko after extending his unbeaten run to 24 fights on Saturday. The highly-regarded 24-year-old knocked out Taurus Sykes in the second round of their bout in Reno, Nevada.
"I hear Klitschko's looking for someone to fight on 24 September," Peter's promoter Dino Duva told Fightnews.com.
"Samuel is worthy of a title shot immediately - in the meantime we want to keep him as active as possible."
Duva added: "We'd love to fight for a title in his next fight. If not, we'll challenge one of the guys ranked ahead of him."
