Khan's standard of opposition may have to improve |
Amir Khan continued his superb unbeaten professional record by defeating Vitali Martynov in just 75 seconds. It was the 19-year-old's first six-round bout but he needed just one, knocking the Belarussian to the floor with a flurry of punches.
The referee stopped the fight after Martynov was left dazed by two left hooks and a straight right from Khan.
"I'm a bit upset it finished in the first round but it's a good record," said Khan, whose record stands at 5-0.
The Olympic silver medallist has been criticised for his loose style of punching but it was his devastating speed that did the damage against 21-year-old Martynov in Nottingham.

Khan came out of his corner with an exhilarating blur of punches, delivering a left hook to his opponent.
Martynov tried to counter but his defences were wide open and referee Terry O'Connor had no choice but to stop the fight.
"I went in there feeling 100% just to box, hoping for six rounds, but it finished early," said Khan.
"I knew he would come forward and every time he did I hit him.
"I went in there and did my job - I don't get paid overtime. I would have loved to have shown more of myself but that's the way the fight went.
"It's been hard training for this fight but I feel stronger and I'm fit enough to fight again next week."
