Beyer survives late scare to win
Beyer (left) claimed his second win over Green (right)
Beyer (left) seemed comfortably in control until late on
Germany's Markus Beyer had to take a standing count before retaining his World Boxing Council super middleweight title against Danny Green on Saturday.

The champion seemed in control until the 12th, when he was caught flush by several left uppercuts from the Australian which put him on the ropes.

This set up a frantic finale but he did enough for a 114-113 115-112 114-114 points victory to make his record 32-2.

It was only the second loss of Green's career, both being against the German.
