Pickering powers to title defence | | Esham Pickering defended his European super-bantamweight title with a 10th-round stoppage of Spaniard Miguel Mallon on Thursday. Pickering ended his opponent's 26-fight unbeaten record with a good defensive display before knocking him to the canvas with a big overhand right. Mallon staggered to his feet but the referee stopped the contest. "They tried to rob me again by giving him a long count and I knew I had to knock him out to win," said Pickering.
