Indonesia's Yohannes Christian John retained his WBA featherweight title following a technical draw with Venezuelan challenger Jose Rojas. The scheduled 12-round bout was stopped in the fourth after a head-to-head collision left both men bleeding from their right temples.
John initiated an attack in the third round with a series of right hooks and straights, forcing Rojas to clinch.
Then the fighters banged heads, forcing the referee to stop the show.
The 23-year-old John now has a record of 34-1-0 with 19 knockouts while southpaw Rojas is 19-6-0 with 12 knockouts.
John became world champion after defeating Oscar Leon of Colombia in 2003.
