Sheffield fighter Clinton Woods will get his fourth world title shot against unbeaten American Rico Hoye. The light heavyweight pair will fight for the vacant IBF belt after Jamaican champion Glencoffe Johnson relinquished it to fight Antonio Tarver.
"It's exciting, I can't wait and I'm feeling good again, as good as I did four years ago," said Woods, 32.
"But I would have preferred to have another rematch with Johnson, because I wanted to prove people wrong."
Woods drew with Johnson in 2003, but then lost the follow-up this year by unanimous decision.
He became a top IBF contender again after beating Australian Jason DeLisle in an IBF eliminator in October.
Woods' manager Dennis Hobson is keen to bring the fight to England, but the boxer insists that is not essential.
"I'm not like a lot of English fighters who want to stay and fight in their own back yard," Woods said.
"You can't have the comfort all the time, I'll go out and do it anywhere. But I do believe it will be in England because Hoye doesn't get big money in America."
