Reid looking for Siaca bout
Super middleweight champion Robin Reid
Newly crowned IBO champion Reid
Robin Reid says he wants to face WBA super middleweight champion Manny Sciaca after winning the IBO version of the title in Belfast on Saturday night.

Reid overcame serious head cuts to floor home favourite Brian Magee four times and gain a unanimous points victory at the King's Hall.

"That fight was really an eliminator for the WBA title," said Reid.

"I have to move on to better things and that means a major world title fight. The division is opening up for me."

Former WBC champion Reid said he would be willing to give Magee a re-match after their bruising 12-round battle.

"As soon as I felt the blood coming down my face I knew it was bad and I was saying to myself "Please don't stop it, not now" because I knew that every time I clipped him, he couldn't take the power," he said.

"I appreciate he gave me the chance and I would be willing to give him a return."

But Reid's promoter Jess Harding said that at the age of 33, the Runcorn fighter did not have time on his side, so he wanted to set up a home bout with either Siaca or newly-crowned WBC champion Cristiano Sanavia.

"Robin doesn't have a lot of time left, so I want to get the major title fight in the UK," said Harding.

"He's had to travel a lot but I want him to get home advantage this time."
