Lacy beat Syd Vanderpool to win the IBF belt |
Joe Calzaghe's promoter Frank Warren says he would like to pair his man with new IBF super middleweight champion Jeff 'Left Hook' Lacy. "It would be a great fight and one that can be made," said Warren.
"I'm going to be putting a proposal to Lacy's promoter Gary Shaw and we will see what happens from there."
Lacy said he wanted to fight WBO champion Calzaghe next after claiming the IBF belt with an eighth-round stoppage of Syd Vanderpool on Saturday.
"Calzaghe's one of the best super middleweight champions," he said, following his win over Vanderpool.
Florida-born Lacy, 27, is unbeaten in 18 professional fights and represented his country at the Sydney Olympics.
Calzaghe will make the 15th defence of his title against Kabary Salem in Edinburgh on 22 October.
US TV network Showtime are known to be keen to arrange a fight between Calzaghe and Lacy.
