Wladimir wants rematch
Wladimir Klitschko

Wladimir Klitschko's solicitors have petitioned the World Boxing Organisation demanding a heavyweight rematch with Lamon Brewster.

Klitschko was stopped at the end of the fifth round by the American in a fight for the vacant WBO title on 10 April.

But the Ukrainian reckons something other than Brewster's punches were behind his shock defeat.

"Why this happened I don't know because I was in perfect shape before the fight," Klitschko told BBC Sport.

I didn't take any big punches - I can't find an explanation

"I didn't take any big punches in the fifth round when I was knocked down and I couldn't stand up.

"I can't find an explanation and I want to find an answer. It would be nice to get a rematch and next time I'll show I can go more than five rounds."

The defeat was the 28-year-old's third in 45 outings and the second stoppage in his last four after being knocked out by Corrie Sanders 13 months ago.

Wladimir's older brother, Vitali, beat Sanders on Saturday to land the WBC crown.
