Brian Magee has made six defences of his IBO title |
Brian Magee has been put forward as a possible challenger for WBC super-middleweight champion Marcus Beyer, according to his manager Pat Magee. Injury has forced Australia's Danny Green to pull out of a scheduled rematch against the German, and IBO champion Magee is apparently in the frame to take the fight on 28 February.
"We have agreed to the fight in Germany and Brian has no problem about going there," said Pat Magee.
However, it is understood Magee is one of a number of fighters being mooted and no concrete plans are in place.
Magee has claimed 21 straight wins in his professional career including six successful defences of the lightly-regarded IBO title.
His last fight was an impressive stoppage of former world champion Hassine Cherifi in November.
If the Beyer fight does go ahead, Magee's proposed IBO fight in the King's Hall would be cancelled.
