Cruiserweight hope David Haye
Haye may move to heavyweight in the future
Rising cruiserweight star David Haye has signed a six-fight deal with Lennox Lewis' Lion Promotions team.

Haye, a silver medallist at the 2001 World Amateur Championships, has been a professional since late last year but had moved from promoter to promoter.

The six fights he is committed to under the new deal will be screened on the BBC.

I think that David Haye is one of the brightest talents in British boxing

"This is a great opportunity for me to give something back to British boxing," said Lewis through a statement.

"I think that David Haye is one of the brightest talents in British boxing and I'd like an opportunity to develop him both in and outside the ring.

"I've got a stake in David, along with the SEM (Sports Entertainment & Media group PLC) and we're looking forward to meeting following my fight on 21 June, to sit down and start planning his career."
