Darren Corbett is hoping for a shot at the WBU light-heavyweight title |
Belfast's Darren Corbett won his comeback fight by stopping Clint Johnson of Leeds in four rounds at the Ulster Hall on Saturday night.
Corbett is hoping the win will move him towards a showdown with WBU light-heavyweight champion Tony Oakey.
The Belfast man took a couple of rounds to blow off the cobwebs but picked up the pace in the third round and had the Yorkshire fighter backing off.
A strong bodyshot forced Johnson down on to one knee and, although he got up, referee David Irving stopped the contest.
