Hamed was last seen in action in May 2002

Naseem Hamed's proposed fight with Michael Brodie in June is off.

Former world featherweight champion Hamed has not fought since last May.

It had been hoped he would return for a fight with Brodie on 21 June at the Manchester MEN Arena.

But the chances of that happening are now over and 29-year-old Hamed's future is in severe doubt.

He has just one fight to his name in two years and a comeback seems more in doubt than ever before.

Brodie will fight on the agreed date of 21 June against either American Johnny Tapia or Marco Antonio Barrera.

The Hamed camp were unavailable for comment.
