![]() | Sunday, 18 November, 2001, 00:24 GMT Harrison retains titles ![]() Scott Harrison is set to fight again in January British and Commonwealth featherweight champion Scott Harrison retained his titles with a third round stoppage of Steve Robinson in Glasgow. Robinson, the former WBO featherweight champion, was always struggling after being caught by a blistering right cross to the chin in the first round. Cambuslang-based Harrison inflicted further punishment on the Welshman in the second round with precise combinations of hooks and upper cuts. The champion maintained his momentum in the third forcing Robinson to take a standing eight-count early in the round from English referee Richie Davies. And Davis called a halt to the contest when another vicious combination forced the referee to intervene with only nine seconds of the round remaining. Harrison's promoter Frank Warren said: "Scott was utterly impressive and I will now be putting him on in Glasgow on January 26 for another defence of his British title." The other Scot in action on the same bill, Alex Arthur, also won, beating Hungarian Laszlo Bognar in the third round. | See also: Other top Boxing stories: Links to more Boxing stories are at the foot of the page. | ||
