The men's 100m competition gets under way early in the evening session and Great Britain's Dwain Chambers wins the first heat with a time of 10.21 seconds
He is joined in the next round by 22-year-old James Dasaolu whose performance of 10.40 seconds sees him claim third in heat four, and the experienced Mark-Lewis Francis
Despite posting a season's best of 2:01.33 Marilyn Okoro finishes outside the top three in the women's 800m but fellow British runner Jenny Meadows fares better to take second in her race
