Olympic silver medallist Heather Fell has finished in fifth place at the year's opening Modern Pentathlon World Cup in Mexico. Fell, who hails from Tavistock, recovered from an average swim to take 26 wins from the fencing event, giving her a personal best of 1,000 points. She went on to clock up another personal points-best in the ride. The 27-year-old also recorded the fourth-fastest time in the combined event, for a points total of 5340. Germany's Lena Schoneborn was the overall winner, with Margaux Isaksen of the USA taking silver, and Evdokia Gretchichnikova of Russia taking bronze.
