World heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis will captain the British team at the Aviva International Match at Glasgow's Kelvin Hall on 30 January.

Ennis will line up in the 60m hurdles and high jump in the first major domestic indoor meeting of the year.

Also competing will be 1500m world silver medallist Lisa Dobriskey and 800m bronze winner Jenny Meadows.

The 17-strong team will face opposition from the United States, Sweden, Germany and a Commonwealth select team.

Ennis, Dobriskey and Meadows will also compete at the Aviva Grand Prix at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena on 20 February.

Ennis said: "I had a fantastic year in 2009 but now my focus is on the coming season and trying to win the World Indoors [in Doha from 12-14 March]."

Dobriskey stated: "The Aviva Grand Prix is a world-class event and always an opportunity to test yourself against some world-class athletes which is great competition for us but also exciting for the crowd to see."

Also confirmed for Birmingham are former Olympic triple jump champion Christian Olsson and current 1500m and 10,000m Olympic champion Kenenisa Bekele.

However, Meadows believes the home crowd will enjoy watching their British world championship medallists just as much.

She said: "It's great that Jess, Lisa and I have this opportunity to race in front of our crowd, especially after our success in Berlin.

"I'm really excited about this season and I can't wait to get out there and just race.

"Everything has gone well in my training and I'm just excited to see what I can do out there on the track."

The 2004 200m Olympic champion and silver medallist in Beijing Shawn Crawford and 100m star Carmelita Jeter will be competing for Team USA, captained by reigning world indoor champion hurdler Lolo Jones.

The Americans will be aiming to regain the team trophy they last won in 2007.

Crawford, world indoor champion in 2001, said: "We don't often get to compete as a team, but when we do it's always a great event.

"I'm sure most of the guys will be hoping that a good start to the season will help them out in Doha at the world indoor championships.

"Lolo will be hungry to captain us to victory and I know we'll all want to be on that podium at the end of the event too."

The championships in Qatar takes place between 12-14 March.
