Marilyn Okoro and Jenny Meadows are contenders but Russian Mariya Savinova takes gold High-flying Okoro is a real medal hope and battles to the front in the 800m final and she has a clear lead going into the final 100m But Okoro's legs give up on her in the final straight and right before the line she collapses and crawls over to grab fifth spot Estonia's Mikk Pahapill is happy with his pole vault efforts. He wins gold in the heptathlon ahead of Oleksiy Kasyanov and Roman Sebrle The race everybody is waiting for - the 60m. Hot favourite Dwain Chambers does not disappoint with another fine showing Just 6.46 seconds after bursting out of the blocks Chambers roars to gold, with team-mate Simeon Williamson edged out of the medals Italian pair Fabio Cerutti and Emanuele Di Gregorio are cheered on by the local crowd but Chambers has too much in the tank The 60m men can't have all the attention. Russian Yevgeniya Polyakova (centre) cruises to the gold medal in 7.18s Chambers says: "This is a very important championship for me. I've done what I set out to do so that is what I am pleased about." The future looks uncertain but for now Chambers will be happy with his book heading for the shops on Monday and a gold in the bag
