Stoke sprinter Ashlee Nelson took silver in the final of the girl's 100m at the World Junior Championships in Bydgodzcz, Poland on Wednesday. The 17-year-old recorded a time of 11.49 seconds, finishing just 0.12 seconds behind the USA's Jeneba Tarmoh. Nelson, the world youth bronze medallist, won her semi-final in 11.43 to go into the final as the second-quickest qualifier. Meanwhile, Jamaica's Dexter Lee won the boy's 100m event. There are athletes from 183 countries at the World Junior Championships.
