Chambers gets German meet invite

Dwain Chambers
Chambers won silver at the 2008 World Indoor championships

Sprinter Dwain Chambers has been invited to compete in a meeting in Germany on 28 June.

The 30-year-old's two-year ban in 2003 for doping offences has made promoters reluctant to offer him races.

But Heinz Husselman, who is organising the Biberach meet, told the Schwabische newspaper: "Chambers deserves a second chance."

Chambers claimed World Indoor silver earlier this year but has since tried his hand at rugby league.

He has previously also attempted to forge a career in NFL Europe without success.

Chambers is currently fighting the British Olympic Association lifetime ban which stops him competing at the Games in Beijing in August.

He is helping British anti-doping authorities by providing information on his experience to aid their battle against drugs in the sport.

But he faces a battle to restore his reputation and gain invitations to some of Europe's major meetings.
