Bernie Hollywood has been training with Olympic legend Daley Thompson |
Runner Bernie Hollywood is in the process of running 35 marathons in 22 days for charity. The 48-year-old's record breaking attempt will culminate at this year's London Marathon on 13 April. The father of two will be covering an average of 50 miles per day over a gruelling 900 mile cross-country course before joining the annual London race. Hollywood said: "My friends, family and colleagues regularly tell me I am crazy but to me it makes perfect sense." The avid fundraiser is due to reach the halfway mark of his challenge on Saturday, when he crosses the Severn Bridge. The runner is also completing the entire journey with a 15ft, two-stone bill board on his back. The aim of his latest challenge is to raise 100,000. Last year he became the first person to run the London Marathon course seven times in seven consecutive days.
