 Sanders claimed medals at two major championships |
World 400m silver medallist Nicola Sanders has capped a brilliant year by being named as the British Olympic Association's Athlete of the Year. The 25-year-old, who also won the European Indoor 400m title, finished second to Christine Ohuruogu at the World Championships in Osaka in August.
She also ran the fastest leg as Britain took bronze in the 4x400m relay.
Sanders received the accolade from former Olympic gold medallist David Hemery at a ceremony in Birmingham.
