McKee produces slight improvement
Paul McKee
Paul McKee is unlikely to race again until 13 June
Belfast athlete Paul McKee produced a slightly improved run in Belgrade on Tuesday from his season opener in Hengelo on Saturday.

McKee clocked 47.14 seconds to take fifth place - .35secs quicker than Hengelo but outside the low 46-second clocking he had been aiming for.

Sydney Olympics 400m hurdles champion Angelo Taylor won the race in 44.98.

Americans Otis Harris (46.2) and Rickey Harrisy (46.4) were second and third with Croatia's Vincek Zeljko in fourth.

McKee was disappointed with his performance but he remains confident that he will produce improved times as the season goes on.

"The only good thing is that I feel totally fine after the race so I'm recovering quickly. With more speed work and good quality training, the time will come down as the season progresses," McKee told BBC Sport.

"I'm going to get a couple of weeks training in, starting on Thursday and I will probably go for a race in Norway on 13 June."
