Aikines-Aryeetey has a great future ahead of him |
World Junior 100m champion Harry Aikines-Aryeetey has returned to London after suffering a back injury during training in the United States. The 18-year-old is now having to rethink his plans for the summer.
The youngster, whose main target this year is winning goal at the European Junior Championships in July, had an injury last season.
But he was still able to win the world junior title in Beijing despite not competing as regularly as planned.
"While the injury may affect his immediate goals, he remains focused on his long-term development - and so do we," said Great Britain and Northern Ireland team official Martin Rush.
