I predict it will be a great weekend for British athletics at the European Indoor Championships in Birmingham because our youngsters do have a lot of ability.
I think we are going to get quite a few medals. Six is a good target and I just hope the athletes don't feel the pressure and can go and deliver.
Indoors is always the best place to blood your new talent, especially when you've got an indoor championship every year to really strive for.

I think it's the best place for a youngster to learn.
What we want to see this weekend is for all our young talent to improve, to run their season's best or a personal best as it is a major championship.
Once you know they can produce those types of performances then you can really look to them for the future because it means they are handling the pressure well and can deliver the goods.
But you've got to be realistic - look at the British team now and who can you say has the potential to win an Olympic gold medal in 2012?
Go through the list, have we got anybody from the age of 21 or 22 who is in the top four or five in the world?
If you are not in that position right now then you are not going to make it as an Olympic champion in five years' time and that's how realistic you've got to be.

We still have an opportunity for some of the world-class talent out there already to get injured or hurt. What we've got to try and do is get our athletes in the best possible shape they can be in for 2012, just in case three or four people are not at the top of their game so our athletes can sneak in and grab the honours.
I always questioned this myself, 'do we have the desire to deliver the goods?'"
Every single athlete in the world who trains hard wants to win and has that burning desire in themselves to produce the ultimate performance.
Our athletes do have the desire, but again, sometimes you have to be realistic and say to yourself, 'do they actually have the talent to match?'
That's the question everyone has to think about.
