 Sotherton and Innis set for Birmingham |
Great Britain's top heptathletes Kelly Sotherton and Jessica Ennis have both been given invitations to compete at the European Indoor Championships. They received automatic invitations from the European Athletics Association because of their current rankings for the multi-discipline event.
The pair finished in seventh and eighth positions respectively at last year's European Championships in Gothenburg.
The duo will open the event with the 60m hurdles in Birmingham on 2 March.
The British team also has the option of entering squads for both men's and women's 4x400m relays having also received invites from the EAA.
Further selections will be made following the Trials and UK Championships on 10-11 February and the final squad will be confirmed on 24 February.
