Pickering won the European Cup 100m in 10.15 seconds |
European Cup winner Craig Pickering will spearhead Great Britain's pursuit of medals at the European Under-23 Championships in Hungary next month. Pickering, 20, is the star name among the British team for the competition in Debrecen, Hungary, on 12-15 July.
World heptathlon number three Jessica Ennis will compete for the women's team in the 100m hurdles and high jump.
UK Athletics Performance Director Dave Collins said: "This is an important stepping stone for many athletes."

Pickering has already appeared in the senior Great Britain team but said competing in this sort of tournament was part of his long-term education.
"It's important to learn these things for when I'm older. I'm still a developing athlete," he said.
"I've not run a world-class 100m time yet. There's still a lot of work to be done.
"Because it's a championship situation, it's a question of getting through the rounds, rather than doing a one-off Grand Prix race where I'm not the favourite."
