Chambers returned from a two-year ban last month |
Dwain Chambers, the fastest Briton over 100m this year, has pulled out of Friday's London Grand Prix after failing to recover from a thigh injury. Chambers, who suffered the injury at the European trials in Manchester two weeks ago, was due to face joint world-record holder Asafa Powell.
The 28-year-old was seeking to prove his fitness ahead of the European Championships in Sweden next month.
But the Londoner does not want to risk his injury by racing at Crystal Palace.
Chambers decided not to race in the 100m finals at the European trials in a bid to rest the injury.
Despite his withdrawal, Chambers will still be considered for the trip to Gothenburg when the final names for the Great Britain side are confirmed after Friday's meeting.
