Carter, 20, who ran the second fastest 200m of all time, 19.63secs, in Lausanne last week, will face a field including Britain's Marlon Devonish.

Olympic and world 400m champion Wariner set a new personal best of 43.62sec in beating Carter over the distance at the Rome Golden League meeting on Friday.

Joint world 100m record holder Asafa Powell will also be at Crystal Palace.

Carter, a former wide receiver in American Football, will be up against fellow American Wallace Spearman and Britain's Marlon Devonish in the 200m.

Wariner, 22, now fourth on the all-time 400m list, will face Britain's Tim Benjamin, who continued his return from injury with victory at the trials for the European Championships on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Sweden's Olympic champion Christian Olsson will provide tough competition for Commonwealth gold medallist Phillips Idowu and British indoor champion Nathan Douglas in the triple jump.

There is a world-class line-up in the women's 100m with world champion Lauryn Williams up against compatriots Allyson Felix - world champion over 200m - and Torri Edwards, the 100m world champion from 2003.

Britain's Commonwealth champion Christine Ohuruogu will face world and Olympic champion Tonique Williams-Darling of the Bahamas, and current world number one Sanya Richards from the United States, in the 400m.

Double world champion Tirunesh Dibaba and fellow Ethiopian Gelete Burka will contest the women's 5,000m, while Russian pole vault sensation Yelena Isinbayeva will also be in action.
