Paula Radcliffe is on the comeback trail following a foot injury |
Former 10,000 metres world champion Gete Wami thinks Paula Radcliffe will be even harder to beat once she returns to action following long-term injury. "I think she will be an even better runner than she was before," said Wami, the 31-year-old Ethiopian.
"She has had a good period of rest and, from my experience, even a few weeks will have worked in her favour."
Radcliffe hopes to return in time for the defence of her European 10,000m title in Gothenburg in August.
Wam competes at the Great Women's Run in Sunderland on Sunday, but faces tough competition from a strong field.
Fellow Ethiopian Efenesh Alemu, Ireland's Sonia O'Sullivan and Hungarian Beata Rakonczai all pose a serious threat to Wami's aspirations.
