Many European promoters did not invite Jones and former partner Tim Montgomery to meetings last year because of their links to the Balco doping scandal.

But according to her manager, Charles Wells, Jones will run in Hengelo in the Nethrelands on 28 May as well as the Golden League meet in Brussels.

"We are also holding discussions with Ostrava, Athens and Paris," said Wells.

Jones has barely run in Europe over the past two years, competing only in Hengelo and Italy last season.

The American's sprint career had seemed over, but she clocked 11.06 seconds in Veracruz on 13 May to defeat former world champion Torri Edwards.

Jones, who won three gold medals at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, was making her first appearance in 11 months.

She has suffered a slump in form since giving birth to her first child with Montgomery in June 2003.

She failed to win a medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics and missed out on the US team for last year's World Championships.

Jones was caught up in the United States Anti-Doping Agency's (Usada) investigation into doping which resulted in several athletes being handed lengthy bans.

She has never been charged with any offence, has never failed a doping test and has denied taking banned substances.

However, Montgomery was handed a two-year ban and stripped of his 100m world record in December by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The court made its ruling on the basis of evidence accepted from the Usada that he had taken banned substances provided by California laboratory Balco.

Montgomery announced his retirement in December.
