 Alistair Cragg ran a brave race in Moscow |
Ireland's Alistair Cragg finished just outside the medals in Sunday's final of the 3,000 metres at the World Indoor Championships in Moscow. Cragg decided to lead from the front and although he was overtaken he hung on well in the later stages and ended up fourth in a time of 7:46.53.
Ethiopian Kenenisa Bekele won in a time of 7:39.32 to hold world outdoor, indoor and cross country gold medals.
He was well clear of Saif Saaeed Shaheen and Eliud Kipchoge.
Bekele ran the last 400 metres in just 53 seconds to become the first man to win gold medals in all three disciplines.
