Claxton could have just 12 days between Moscow and Melbourne |
British 60m hurdler Sarah Claxton embarks on a busy fortnight when the World Indoor Championships get under way in Moscow on Friday. Claxton is the only British athlete who is competing in both the World Indoors and the forthcoming Commonwealth Games.
A depleted GB team for the three-day Moscow event includes Karen Harewood, who takes on 800m legend Maria Mutola.
Also competing are world record holders Yelena Isinbayeva (women's pole vault) and Kenenisa Bekele (men's 3,000m).
Russian Isinbayeva, who has dominated the winter circuit, is looking to set her 20th record in the discipline.
Meanwhile, Mozambique runner Mutola is aiming for a record seventh gold medal.
The British men's team includes 60m runners Tim Abeyie and Mark Findlay, who face a tough task against Americans Terrence Trammell and Leonard Scott.
