| Olympic and world champion Kenenisa Bekele is to attempt to break his own 10,000m world record at the Zurich Golden League meeting on 19 August. The Ethiopian has won two of his four Golden League outings this summer. Bekele said after becoming African 5,000m champion: "Sometimes one wins, sometimes one loses. That is normal. "I think I ran more races that I should have done on the European circuit but that has not stopped my ambition to improve on my world record."
